This story emerged after a conversation with my Mother and a research article about medical trials and how the ‘average’ is male, not female. My Mum had been prescribed Thalidomide during her pregnancy, but didn’t take it. That was lucky, or I might have had a very different life. I love writing historical flash; it seems to emerge.
