28th February - 4th April 2025

A six-week course on Friday mornings from 10 - 12

Write the stories only you can write in this class. Tap into your creativity by responding to weekly writing prompts in class, or working on your own material. All lessons are underpinned by advice on the craft of writing.

The approach here is to learn through practice. Each week you will receive different themes in advance and write in class. You will share work and give feedback to one another.

£105 for six sessions

Short Stories and Flash Fiction

Online course on Zoom, through Bristol Folk House

Six weeks starting on 26th Feb - 2nd April 2025

A six-week course on Wednesday evenings from 7 - 9 pm

This course will focus on writing short stories and flash fiction in a supportive group. We'll cover narrative structures, conflict, characterisation, point of view and the differences between stories and flash fiction (and it's not just length!)

Over the course, you'll learn how to edit, how to make readers fall in love with your stories and where can you find opportunities to send or share your writing. There will be prompts, writing exercises, discussion and written feedback.

By the end of the course, writers will have two pieces workshopped. Included in the costs are the extra time taken for the tutor to provide comprehensive feedback on two pieces of work per student.

Develop your unique voice, find your superskills as a writer and discuss work with other students in a supportive collaborative space. This course is suitable for beginners, and more confident writers.
